Who Are Martin Wheeler Optometrists?

Tracy has over 20 years experience as an optometrist, working in both the multiple groups and independent practice. She has supervised a number of student optometrists and contact lens opticians and is qualified to provide a number of enhanced optometry services. In her spare time she enjoys running and going to the gym and socialising.

Martin is an extremely experienced optometrist with over 40 years in practice and has owned and managed his own practice for the majority of his working life. He is qualified to provide a number of enhanced optometry services and is dedicated to providing our patients with only the best level of professional and clinical service. Now working fewer days, he spends his spare time with his family and is a regular tennis player. He also has an interest in photography, walking and playing chess.

Nigel is a qualified Dispensing Optician with over 20 years in the profession. He has extensive experience managing independent practices and has a keen interest in the technical side of optical dispensing, dispensing the latest high tech digital lens products. Outside of work he is an avid reader of crime novels, cycling and touring the countryside in the family motor-home. He has more recently taken an interest in digital photography.

Jenny has been at the practice for over 20 years and is responsible for the smooth day to day running of the reception. She has come to know many patients as friends over the years, and always makes our patients feel welcome when they visit us. Skilled at handling patient enquiries, she is also responsible for many of the administrative tasks that are important to ensure we remain efficient and deliver good customer service. Outside of work she enjoys gardening, knitting and walking.

Steven is a regular member of our team and has worked in a number of areas of the optical profession. Qualified in a number of enhanced services, he also teaches optometry students at Aston University Vision Sciences Department about contact lenses. Very friendly, he puts patients at ease when they visit the practice. He is an avid sports fan and a keen supporter of Manchester united.

Before joining the practice, Beth graduated with a degree in theology which gives her a good understanding of patients from all walks of life. She is a friendly and bubbly character and likes to put patients at ease when they arrive at the practice. Efficient in her work she helps the smooth flow of the day and making sure our patients’ visits to us are enjoyable. Outside work Beth is interested socialising, going to the cinema and spending time with her young nieces and nephews.

Sam joined the practice in 2015 after spending 10 years working as an optical assistant with a medium sized optical group. Since then she has extended her knowledge and understanding of optics within an independent practice. Very keen on the fashion aspect of optical dispensing, Sam is excellent at helping patients choose the best look for their eyewear. Her interest outside work, include socialising and spending time with her family.
